Pleasures, Suits, and Young Percy

Well there is no good excuse for not writing here in so long. We have been working hard, but not unusually so. We simply have been spending too much time gambling and drinking, and not enough time writing. Hatton has been in town and we so love playing cards with him. It would also be fair to add that he has brought us back some glorious silks from his most recent trip. We couldn't be any happier. Green brocades with lovely beasties on them! What a surprise!

We have also finally completed the Suit Of Pearls for The King Of France! We are expecting to see a portrait of him wearing the suit, as soon as the artist completes his commission. We hope that The King is pleased with our work!

Our apprentice John Percy has been working very hard and we have rewarded him with some time to work on his own creations. Naturally we have given him some less expensive fabrics to work with, but we think he may finally be able to move up in the world. He is usually diligent and when he's not he accepts his punishment well. So we think he will be careful with some of our lesser silks.
