Stimpzilla's Sumptuary Law

Always Dress Above Your Station

Renaissance and Tudor Jewelry

At the request of many of our clients, we have begun work on a line of Renaissance and Tudor jewelry that is suitable for court wear for both men and women. Among our selections are carcanet girdle belts, collars and chains, bracelets and chokers.

The stones, unless otherwise specified, are genuine.

All are offered in pewter, and pewter and very heavily gilded 22k gold, in order to give you the best selection possible. We have chosen to use very heavy gold plating so that your jewels will look wonderful for many years to come. These are not lightly plated vermeil pieces.

We have chosen to use pewter as the under lying metal as it is lighter than bronze and therefore more comfortable to wear. We also double link the pieces together so that the jewelry will last a long time.

All the individual links you see here can be easily arranged to suit your liking. All pieces can be made into chains, collars of office, necklaces, cancanets, girdles, belts and bracelets, what ever your heart desires. Any combination is available, and can be custom made for the discerning Noble within a short amount of time.

PLEASE NOTE: We are very sorry for the quality of some of the photographs. We really do know they are rather horrible, but our camera is not functions and we resorted to using the camera in our phone. We will very shortly be having more examples of our work to show that will be professional in quality. We put this much up as we have had many requests for the images. So please, laugh as you will, and we will make the images easier for you in the near future. And yes, really, we are aware that a girdle goes about the waist!

Our Renaissance Jewels

The line of jewelry offered so far are not exact duplicates and are intended to be designs made as if we were designing jewels during the time period of the Renaissance , Tudor and Elizabethan eras. We will be adding more pieces, but for now we have a limited first edition.

All pieces come with a jewelry bag to protect the metals and stones, making it easier to store the jewels and to travel.

We currently have stock, but all can be custom ordered. In particular the stones selections offered which currently are pearls, onyx, carnelian, lapis, malachite, moonstone and jade all in cabochons. Other natural stones are available. We also have lab created gemstones available such as diamonds, rubies sapphire, garnets emeralds and others, these stones are normally available in facets. And further we are looking into faceted crystals. The possibilities are as endless as your imagination.

The pewter is offered in both an oxidized and "silver" finish. The oxidized finish requires no and looks similar to the "niello" finish used by jewelers of the day. Niello is a darkening agent used on silver to bring out a contrast in the details. We use it on pewter as it is less expensive to our clients than pure silver and requires little to no effort to keep the shine, leaving a finish that was much sought after in period.

We are proud to show our line now to the public in 22k gold gilt pewter.

We have used fresh water pearls, onyx and carnelian extensively as these gems were very popular during the renaissance period. However other stones are lovely and period also and we are happy to provide them. We are rather fond of malachite, and lapis and have examples of others.

All the pieces are cast, plated and hand assembled in the United States. All designs are ours exclusively.
