Sword Cloak DescriptionThe cut and slash technique was used extensivly. A circular punch was used on the satin to form a pattern around all the edges, hem and collar. The cuts form a chevron with the circular holes farming them. Though these holes slashes, you can see the layer of white silk. This sword cloak has also been hand stitched with gold thread as decoration around all the edges. The detail is somewhat subtle but was chosen to set the edges off and help separate the cloak from the rest of the clothing in the event the wear chooses all black. The model (my sweetheart) at 6"3, is a bit tall for the cloak which was made with someone not quite so tall in mind. We are happy to make sword cloaks in specific lengths and fabrics, to suit your needs. This style cloak is appropriate for men (or daring women) during the middle 16th century through early 17th century. It is suitable for SCA events as well as the Faires or theatre |
